This programme was recorded in the week following the devastating Christchurch earthquake of February 22nd 2011 and turned round for broadcast on Shine TV the following week. Box of Delights
Recorded in Papua New Guinea, this documentary follows the Christmas gift boxes which are lovingly filled each year by people all over Australia and New Zealand as part of Operation Christmas Child, run by the international aid charity Samaritan’s Purse. The programme visits the church in PNG’s capital, Port Moresby, which organises the distribution in PNG, and follows the boxes to settlements like Bononamo and Brown River to see how the boxes bring so much more to each village than simply children’s gifts. Box of Delights was broadcast on Shine TV in April 2011.
